How to Fix Wi-Fi Connected but No Internet on Windows, Mac, and Mobile
What’s Happening
Your device is connected to Wi-Fi, but websites and apps won’t load.
Step by Step Fix
Step 1: Confirm It’s Not the Internet Itself
- Check another device on the same Wi-Fi
- If nothing works → issue is with ISP/router
Step 2: Restart Everything (Yes, Properly)
- Turn off router → wait 60 seconds → turn on
- Restart your device
Step 3: Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi
Windows / Mac / Mobile:
- Go to Wi-Fi settings
- “Forget” the network
- Reconnect and re-enter password
Step 4: Reset Network Settings
Windows
- Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced → Network Reset
Mac
- Remove Wi-Fi service → re-add it
iPhone / Android
- Reset Network Settings
Step 5: Fix DNS Issues (Advanced)
Windows (Command Prompt)
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
Step 6: Try a Different DNS
- Use: 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS)
- Or: 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare)
When to Escalate
- Works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi → router issue
- Nothing works → ISP outage
